I want to make Value Investments!

“Invest in value!” Invest in Union Pacific Railroad, or Southwest Airlines, and you bought value. Both companies have history, a solid business model, and a great deal of capital investment with a track record of earning profits. In other words these are value investments.

Facebook has millions of users worldwide and has never made a dime. Wikipedia had to take donations online just to stay on the web. Buying into these business is not value investing, rather it is speculation.

Pronto Progress has hired in the past month or so Claudio, Patrick, Travis, Sherri, Robert, Gavin and Keith for Milwaukee, Chicago and Tampa. As a software development company, we invest heavily in people. Bricks and mortar, trucks, tools and equipment are tangible investments and easily appraised.

Claudio’s credentials and performance was a known item to Andy and his integrity known. So, what makes Sherri a value investment when we have no such insider knowledge? Why should Pronto commit resources to anyone’s training and future? Andy Wasilczuk and Jason Fenner did their best to determine if Sherri was a value investment. The final answer, the truth, is already within Sherri as it is in Claudio.

Integrity is value to Pronto Progress. Two things are certain:

  1. If Sherri wouldn’t hire herself, then she has no business selling herself to Pronto Progress.
  2. I can only sell what I believe in.

2011 will see Pronto Progress aggressively bringing highly technical services to companies that use Progress, Epicor, MFGPRO, Syteline and Silverlight and need problems solved now. Pronto Progress must always bring value to these companies.

I need everyone at Pronto Progress be a value investment to our customers and importantly, someone I believe in.
