Shirley Newberry, PhD, RN is Professor of Nursing at Winona State University. Dr. Newberry teaches Leadership in Research and Evidence-Based Practice and Community/Public Health. The Leadership course covers the concepts of Nursing Theory, Research, and Evidence-based practice. Details include the use of health information technology to augment/support the nursing care process - including concepts such as safety, quality care improvement, decision assistance/support, outcome analysis, and data analysis. The Community/Public Health course delves into nursing involvement through teamwork/collaboration - covers the nurses' role in determining usability, workflow analysis, and systems selection/evaluation with public health and mental health clients in the community setting. Her professional research agenda focuses on health promotion in older adults in rural locations, improvement of Colorectal screening in the Family Practice setting, family-centered care in Psychiatric units, conflict engagement, and pre/post Parandial Insulin administration. Over the last 15 years, she has established a strong relationship with the School of Nursing at the University of the West Indies Hospital, Jamaica and has provided them with equipment and supplies to promote the use of technology in health care delivery in an emerging country. Timothy Proksch has 15 years of experience in Progress design, development and training, 27 years of data processing experience and more than 20 years in business management. As Director of Operations & Sales of Pronto Progress, Mr. Proksch remains hands-on and has developed Progress solutions for quality control, manufacturing, insurance industry, benefits planning, banking, automotive service and government. Jason Villalobos joined Pronto Progress in 2000. Jason is an Account Mentor and a senior Epicor consultant. Connected independent operations into a connected system that reducing the labor involved in the documentation processes of the client. Jason added a faxing module to allow faxing of reports from QAD. Created Module to accept, monitor and maintain EDI 820 documents. Jason developed reports and maintenance screens for a custom progress system. Jason created a global data warehouse that generated standardized global reports showing what operations as saving money and what areas/countries are not. Jason created data warehouse connecting global data from corporate ERP pulling data from QAD, JD Edward and BPCS.
